Clinical Herbalist + Nutritionist
Kelsey is the host of the Planet Spoonie podcast and creator of Heritage Apothecaries. She is a Clinical Herbalist + Holistic Nutritionist, who has studied and worked in a variety of settings, from forest, field, + farm to apothecary + pharmacy, garnering 10+ years of experience along the way. She believes what is good for people, is good for the planet.
Kelsey works with clients to address chronic lyme + complex chronic illness. She is a lyme-literate practitioner with clinical training in chronic infectious + complex diseases, but her foremost knowledge comes from living with undiagnosed lyme for years herself. She incorporates the rich traditions of vitalism + bioregional herbalism, rooting her practice in an ecological framework, acknowledging that all chronic illness is intimately interconnected with the climate crisis.
As a former farmer and avid home gardener, she grows and wildcrafts many of the herbs used in the apothecary. She is currently based in the coastal southwest, and is enjoying growing native local herbs like Bee Balm, California Poppy, + Yerba Mansa. She holds an MS in Clinical Herbal Medicine and a BA in Contemplative Psychology + Environmental Studies.
In addition to working with clients 1:1, she teaches classes (online + in-person) about herbalism, traditional nutrition, and nature-connected living. Find her online @kelseytheherbalist to learn about cultivating, cooking, + crafting healing foods and herbal medicines, all while healing your spoonie self on this spoonie planet.
