Play Episode

In my conversation with Lauren, you’ll likely hear something unique and familiar all that same time. Lauren's story is one that we all can find a common ground in whether we are in search of healing and or want to be affirmed that we are not alone. If you’ve ever felt unheard as you described to a doctor how you are feeling, Lauren shares a moment with us in her journey that many of us have had and may or may not know what it meant but we know how it felt… Lost and Confused.

During this episode, our hope is that you feel heard and can see the value of being an advocate for yourself and or for those you love living with chronic illness.

During this episode, our hope is that you feel heard and can see the value of being an advocate for yourself and or for those you love living with chronic illness. Lauren and I both agree that having someone who can support you psychologically, or emotionally as well as from a holistic health perspective, is so vital to coping and healing.

Lauren shares how her support system and her mindset have led her to the path to where she is now, thriving while building awareness, community, and resources for those navigating the healthcare system. Tune in to hear her story.

“Am I worthy enough, which being chronically ill, and going through all the things my body has been through and going through the medical system as a chronically ill woman, is something that makes you question whether or not you’re worthy constantly.”

— Lauren Freedman on Ep. 70 of She's Crafted to Thrive Podcast

Lauren Freedman

Nationally Certified Health & Wellness Coach & Award Winning Podcast Host

Lauren Freedman is an award-winning entrepreneur, voice actor, writer, and activist who lives in Los Angeles. She has lived with depression and anxiety since she was a teen, and was first diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease and sleep disorders in 2017. Harrowing experiences of medical gaslighting and disability, paired with her work in women’s health activism, prompted her to seek community…where none was available. It was when she became aware that even close friends were living with invisible diagnoses that she began speaking out — and kindled her own community so nobody would have to feel lost in their body’s mutinies again. Now an “accidental” advocate, her work is centered in deepening narratives about chronic illness and disability: raising awareness, inspiring inclusion, and providing comfort for those living the Spoonie life. In 2021, she begins training as a Nationally Certified Health & Wellness Coach in order to further serve her community. Lauren graduated from London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) with a BA (Hons) in Acting in 2008. Fall down seven times, stand up eight.
